In my last post (On the Hunt for a New Planner – Part One – Let the Search Begin), I told you all about how the Passion Planner that I have been ‘using’ for years has made a change to their sizing, and so I decided, if I have to make a change, I might as well explore my options. Note, I use the word ‘using’ loosely! I probably have more blank weeks in my planner than complete. (I do know how much more efficientlyĀ I use my time when I use my planner properly, so I am setting the intention right here, now to make better use of it in the future šŸ™‚ ) I started the hunt from suggestions by community members in The Female Solopreneur Community Facebook Group and from Google herself (Google’s a ‘her’ right!?!) I began with a list of twenty-six possibilities and managed to narrow my favourites down to seven! (…and, I have a top 3 picks!) Can I just start by saying, there are some really awesome planners out there. And, Iā€™m sure I was not even close to seeing all of the options available on the great www.

Before I show you my top seven choices, I want to mention the following brands: Check them out! Their planners were beautiful and well laid out, they were just not quite what I was looking for. You may find one that you love though.

If you missed the previous post, here’s a quick rundown of what I was looking for in a new planner:
  • A monthly spread that does not have lines in it
  • Weekly spreads with lines for writing and no times
  • It would be nice if within each day there was some sort of separate space to keep personal and business appointments and to-do lists separate
  • A monthly goal page would be nice
  • Blank pages at the front or back are not necessary but would also be nice
  • It has to be pretty, of course!
With that list in mind, what I did first was look to see if there was a horizontal weekly layout available. After using a vertical layout, and not really loving it so much, I knew that was a must for me. To make the cut, thereĀ HAD TO BE clear images of the inside of the planner. (I was actually surprised at how many of the websites had poor shots of the inside. That was how a lot from my original list were eliminated quickly. To me that would be like buying something sight unseen. Not going to happen!) To help me narrow down my choices to, I made notes of my favourites from each site, the size and price, and what I liked best. So, here they are, my top 7 choices for 2019 planners…

Ashley Shelly Ashley Shelly website screenshot

  • Options: Signature Ashley Shelly Planners, Monthly Notebook Planners, Budget Notebooks, Notebook Besties, Daily Peace Journals, Dot Grid Notebooks, Mouse Pads, Stickers
  • Previews: lots of pictures of the inside of the planner with a zoom to see the pages clearly
  • If I was to buy one it would be… The Signature Ashley Shelly Planner
  • Price: $44.95 USD
  • Size: 7.25ā€ x 9.25″
  • What I like about it: I like that it has lines in the weekly spread with no times. It also has a really nice goal setting page at the beginning of each month with spaces for things like gratitude and recording what to do to create more happiness in your life for the month
  • Other thoughts or features:Ā I am a little hesitant that the weekly spread might not have enough space for my liking

On a side note,Ā Ashley Shelly was one of the first accounts that I started to follow on IG. I have always been so in awe of their branding. It. Is. Spot. On.Ā Be sure to check it out!

The Desire Map Planner

  • Options:Ā  Daily, Weekly and Undated
  • Previews: The previews on the product listings were a little hard to see what was included but were better on the main 2019 Planner page

  • Price:Ā  $50.00 USD
  • Size:Ā  7.5″ x 9.5″
  • What I like about it:Ā  Each day gets its own page so there is plenty of room to write. There are also spaces for recording gratitude, health and wellness, and what is not working

  • Size: 8.5″ x 11″ (comes in 2 smaller size options as well)

And my top 3 picks are The Desire Map Planner (love the accompanying program), The HappinessĀ PlannerĀ® (love the daily extras) and the Personalized 8.5″x11″: Two-Sided Days Planner by Plum Paper (love that it can be customized with extra pages). There’s a lot of love going on for these planners!
